GRAND KNIGHT
On behalf of Council 4981, we extend a warm welcome to our Website. We invite you to be a frequent visitor and to learn about the many Knights of Columbus activities and support programs we offer. Our Council serves four parishes in the Bay Area: St. Joseph of Cupertino, Church of the Ascension, Sacred Heart and Queen of Apostles. This broad representation provides great diversity and the opportunity to serve in many areas. You can get the latest news and information by clicking to our monthly bulletin, The MACE.
We invite your comments and suggestions on how to make our Website more user friendly. Thank you for your interest in the Knights of Columbus.

CHAPLAIN
Welcome Fr. Hao Dinh
Fr. Hao Dinh was ordained a priest for the Diocese of San Jose in 1993. Since then, he has served in eight different parishes and was dean of a cluster of nine parishes in the Cupertino-Saratoga-Campbell-Los Gatos area. Concurrently with his responsibility at Ascension since 2019, he also assisted Bishop Cantú as Vicar General and Chancellor until June 30 this year.
Fr. Hao entered Saint Joseph’s Seminary in Saigon, Vietnam, in 1969 as a minor seminarian. His journey to the priesthood was disrupted and prolonged because of the fall of the city to North Vietnam in 1975. All seminarians were placed under scrutiny and restrictions by the new government. After the seminary was shut down again in 1982, he joined his parents and two brothers to emigrate to Calgary, Canada, in 1985. Three years later, he was admitted to Saint Patrick’s Seminary in Menlo Park and was ordained on May 15, 1993, exactly 24 years after passing the entrance examination at the seminary in Vietnam on May 15, 1969! Fr. Hao joined the Knights of Columbus when he was assigned to Holy Family Parish in San Jose in 2003.
